The central workstation and power control cabinets of the INOMANS2HIP demonstrator built by IMTECH Marine at the RDM Campus in Rotterdam, which simulates the operational profile of a Ro/Ro freight ship. At the heart of the demonstrator are two computers, one running the ship simulation and the other running the Energy Management Systems (EMS) and human machine interface (HMI). These were developed as part of INOMANS2HIP for the integration and optimisation of the various on-board power systems (diesel generators, main engines, etc.) and alternative energy sources (WHRS power generation, Solar PV, battery energy storage, shore power supply and PTO/PTI systems).

To add reality and allow systems to be demonstrated, four electrical distribution and control cabinets enabling various conventional and alternative energy sources to be integrated into the demonstrator were installed. These have been built by IMTECH Marine to allow for various power sources and consumers to be added to the demonstrator for real-time control from the workstation by the EMS. Built to high standard of reality, these cabinets allow the integration, testing and training of both software simulation control and hardware including a scaled demonstrator propulsion system provided by Wärtsilä Netherlands.
